Bundles of Joy is a family crisis intervention charity operating across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. We step in at times of crisis and offer immediate, practical short-term support to families who are experiencing severe hardship by providing clothing, toiletries, nappies, toys, prams, cots, bedding and other essential equipment, which is donated by the public and the local business community.
The charity was founded in November 2016 by Claire Raper and has six trustees.
Meet the Team
From Beverley, Claire has a genuine passion for helping others and making a difference to families in Hull and the East Riding.
Having founded Bundles of Joy in 2016, her energy and commitment to serving the local community has resulted in thousands of families receiving essential support when they had nowhere else to turn.
Claire is a trained Doula and Antenatal Educator and has a wealth of experience dealing with children and their families.
Rachael built and runs the Hull & East Riding Mumbler website to list and share all things to do for families in the area. She also runs a freelance marketing consultancy - The Marketing Lane. Rachael has helped fundraise for Bundles of Joy at her Mumbler family fun days and wanted to do more to help with the charity. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge of other family organisations and people to work with through Mumbler along with marketing advice to help maximise awareness of Bundles of Joy in the local area.
Sam is a mum of two and is a Financial Planning Manager at Nationwide Building Society. Sam was keen to get involved with Bundles of Joy to help the charity develop further and reach more families in our community who are in need of support. With her professional background in finance, Sam looks after the funding and financial aspects of the charity.
Angela has been a volunteer for Bundles of Joy since the charity’s inception in 2016. Along with Colin, her husband of almost 50 years, Angela works tirelessly for the charity and her support is critical to day-to-day operations. In her spare time, Angela enjoys knitting and sewing and makes angel gowns for babies that are born sleeping.
Sue is a mum of one and a manager at Handelsbanken. She has spent over twenty years working in the local area in finance and has a strong professional network in the local business community. Sue is a fitness fanatic and has run marathons, half-marathons, undertaken bike rides and climbed mountains to raise money for charities so let's see what she will do next to support Bundles of Joy!
Gillian is a PR & communications specialist with over 21 years of experience. She relocated to East Yorkshire from Scotland in 2015 and started volunteering for Bundles of Joy as she wanted to put her professional skills to good use and support a local charity that provides essential services to families in crisis in the local community.
As a trustee, Gillian hopes to play a key role in the future development and sustainability of the charity, as the need for its services continues to grow across Hull & the East Riding of Yorkshire.
